

'Shakespeare Showtime' English Drama Programme Year 3
Programme Description:
Shakespeare4All 'Shakespeare Showtime' English Drama Programme ('Shakespeare Showtime' / 'The Programme' below) is now open for application! The Project is a 1-year free In-school English drama programme to all primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong.
The Programme is divided into 2 parts.
In Part 1, students from 20 schools will be experiencing an hour of English drama performance of 'Macbeth' performed by professional actors. While 'Macbeth' includes mature themes typical of Shakespeare's tragedies, the performance is thoughtfully adapted for education settings, ensuring age-appropriate presentation suitable for Primary 4-6 and Secondary 1-3 students. This will be followed by a post-performance workshop while teachers will receive an hour of training workshop exploring the relationship between drama and teaching. After the school touring show, 10 schools will be selected to join
Part 2 where they receive a 24-hour Shakespearean drama training course offered to their students from October 2026 – March 2027, in which students will have their final performance at a professional theatre during ‘Shake Fest’, a 9-day Shakespeare English Drama Festival in March 2027.

Remarks: Please note that schools will have to submit a refundable cheque deposit of $1,500 if the school is admitted to The Programme. More details in the Terms of Agreement.
