Dear Principal Lee,

Hello, I am Julie, Maria Zhang’s mother of Year 6A. I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the learning opportunity the school provided to Year 5 students to participate in the rehearsal and performance of S4A English drama Twelfth Night during 2009/10. And I am very glad that this year the school is going to run this program for Year 5 students again.

Thank God! My daughter Maria took part in rehearsals and the performance. Our whole family watched her performance on that day and we could not believe that the girl on the stage is our daughter. She spoke fluent English and with zero mistakes and had 80 lines. Thinking back, she increased her interest and has become positive learning English and her academic results also improved; it is all because she practiced in a lot throughout this drama and this performance.

After Twelfth Night held by S4A, it also developed her potential in performing arts. She now knows more about drama and has learned how to be a different character on stage. Twelfth Night not only trained her courage, it also enhanced her confidence. This year Maria started to attend different speech competitions and obtained excellent results. Moreover, she invited to be the MC of two big shows.

I can see that Maria has grown up a lot, made much progress, and starting to perform on stage with confidence and enjoy it. As her parents, we really thank the school for arranging these kinds of programs; especially thanks to Principal Lee, school teachers, S4A Producer Lynn Yau, Artistic Director Dr Ooi, all other teachers and staff; for their teaching and encouragement to Maria.

God be with you!
